Dock Diving Classes

The dock is open in May!

Owner/Trainer Rachael Brinkman holds private training for dock diving on a limited basis, and offers private rental most summer days.

Classes are located at our dock and pool at 10225 Seymour Rd. Gaines, MI 48436. This is private property, appointment only.

Upcoming Dock Diving Level 1, Level 2, and All Level classes are available in the scheduler at the bottom of the page!

All Level Dock Diving Classes: these classes are all level, meaning its both an entry level class, for dogs that are brand new to the sport of dock diving, as well as a class for advanced students working on technique.

Ideal candidates for this class would be dogs that have toy drive, and may have been introduced to water in some way (pond, lake, river, ocean, pool), and have expressed interest in swimming! No experience necessary. If you’re looking to improve performance, tracking, popping, or even working on gaining more confidence and speed with jumps, this class is for you too! We’re able to help each dog where they are.

Hydro Agility: this is a beginner level course, to begin showing dogs the equipment and expectations with this game. No agility experience is necessary, this is entry level. Your dog should be interested in swimming, although they do not need to jump off the dock. Dogs will be leaving from the ramp, and following their favorite toy to swim through obstacles.

It is recommended that you, the owner of the dog, runs the dog through the course. However, if you’re not comfortable with this, we will run your dog for you! With that being said, you must be comfortable with entering and exiting the pool using the ramp.

This is going to be a great workout for both you and your dog! Take that into consideration if you or your dog has physical limitations. If you plan to get in the water, please make arrangements for drying yourself off afterwards. Towels, dry, clothing, etc.

Bring your dog’s favorite toy, they will need a good motivator. Also, it’s not required, but it is recommended for new dogs or any dogs that are not strong swimmers to wear a life jacket. If you have your own, please bring that with you. If you don’t have one, we have several in various sizes at the dock you can borrow.

Swim Class: this class is for dogs at all levels that need help with the fundamentals of swimming. Dogs with no water experience, dogs that need more work with swim safety or swimming form, or dogs that need swimming for low impact exercise. There are many reasons your dog may be a good candidate for this class, and there is no previous experience necessary, but this is a great way dogs can gain experience and confidence in the water. Swim Class is a 2 week class, and is limited to 5 dogs each class. Dogs may be any age, but must have be up to date on vaccinations.
